Wir freuen uns sehr, einen außergewöhnlichen Künstler bei uns auf Vaikuntha begrüßen zu dürfen:

Kalyanjit Das zählt zu den spannendsten jungen Künstlern der nordindischen klassischen Musik. Er stammt aus einer hochmusikalischen Familie aus Kolkata und repräsentiert die traditionsreiche „Senia Maihar Gharana“. Seine Musik verbindet Tiefe, Präzision und emotionale Ausdruckskraft auf einzigartige Weise. (unten mehr)

Begleitet wird er an diesem Abend von:

🥁 Rishabh Sunder – Tabla
Junges Tabla-Ausnahmetalent aus Deutschland, das Kalyanjit Das bereits bei mehreren Konzerten in Europa begleitet hat.

🪕 Moritz König – Tanpura
Moritz ist Sitar-Schüler von Pandit Kushal Das und begleitet Kalyanjit Das auf Teilen seiner Tour.

Nach dem Konzert laden wir herzlich zur offenen Jam Session am Feuer ein. Musikerinnen und Zuhörerinnen sind willkommen.

🍛 Für Speis & Trank ist gesorgt.
🏕 Camping ist nach vorheriger Anmeldung möglich.

Kalyanjit Das und Moritz König bleiben im Anschluss noch einige Tage auf Vaikuntha. In dieser Zeit besteht bei Interesse die Möglichkeit für Sitar-Unterricht mit Kalyanjit Das.

Wichtiger Hinweis zum Konzert:
Die Musik lebt von Ruhe und Konzentration.
Bitte während des Konzerts nicht reden oder umherlaufen.
Die Aufführung dauert ca. 2 Stunden.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Kalyanjit Das stammt aus Kolkata (Indien) und wurde in eine traditionsreiche Musikerfamilie hineingeboren. Bereits im Alter von drei Jahren begann er mit dem Sitar-Spiel unter Anleitung seines Vaters Pandit Kushal Das. Seine musikalische Ausbildung steht in der Linie der berühmten „Senia Maihar Gharana“ – einer der bedeutendsten Traditionen nordindischer klassischer Musik.

Seine Musik zeichnet sich durch große Ruhe, Präzision und emotionale Tiefe aus. Gleichzeitig trägt sie eine jahrhundertealte Tradition in sich, in der Musik nicht nur Unterhaltung, sondern auch Meditation, Disziplin und spirituelle Praxis ist.

Kalyanjit konzertierte bereits auf renommierten Festivals und Bühnen in Indien, Europa und den USA – unter anderem in London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Dhaka und vielen weiteren Orten. Er spielte mit bedeutenden Tabla-Meistern zusammen und erhielt mehrere nationale Auszeichnungen und Stipendien der indischen Musikszene.

Für Vaikuntha ist dieser Besuch etwas Besonderes:
Unsere Gemeinschaft versteht sich als Ort für naturnahes Lernen, kulturellen Austausch und gemeinschaftliches Leben. Musiktraditionen wie die Hindustani-Klassik verkörpern viele Werte, die auch Vaikuntha wichtig sind — Achtsamkeit, Hingabe, generationsübergreifendes Lernen und die Verbindung von Kunst, Gemeinschaft und innerer Entwicklung.

Dass Kalyanjit Das einige Tage bei uns verbringt und seine Musik in diesem intimen Rahmen teilt, ist deshalb weit mehr als ein Konzert — es ist eine kulturelle Begegnung und ein gemeinsamer Erfahrungsraum.

We’re incredibly happy to welcome a truly exceptional artist to Vaikuntha:
✨ Sitar virtuoso Kalyanjit Das ✨

Kalyanjit Das is considered one of the most exciting young sitar players in the world of North Indian Classical Music. His music combines meditative depth, precision, and emotional intensity with the rich tradition of Hindustani classical music.

Joining him on the evening:

A young tabla prodigy born in Germany, who has already accompanied Kalyanjit Das at several concerts across Europe.

🪕 Moritz König – Tanpura
Moritz is a sitar student of Pandit Kushal Das and is accompanying Kalyanjit Das on parts of his current tour.

After the concert, everyone is warmly invited to stay for an open jam session around the fire. Musicians and listeners alike are welcome.

🍛 Food and drinks will be available.
🏕 Camping is possible with prior registration.

Kalyanjit Das and Moritz König will stay at Vaikuntha for a few more days after the concert. During this time, there will also be an opportunity for sitar lessons with Kalyanjit Das for anyone interested.

This music thrives on silence and concentration.
Please avoid talking or walking around during the performance.
The concert will last approximately 2 hours.

Born into a deeply musical family in Kolkata, India, Kalyanjit Das began learning the sitar at the age of three under the guidance of his father, Pandit Kushal Das. His musical lineage belongs to the renowned “Senia Maihar Gharana”, one of the most respected traditions of North Indian classical music.

His playing is known for its clarity, emotional sensitivity, rhythmic subtlety, and meditative atmosphere. In the Hindustani tradition, music is not merely performance — it is also a lifelong discipline, a form of devotion, and a path of inner cultivation.

Kalyanjit has performed internationally at renowned festivals and cultural venues across India, Europe, and the USA, including London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Dhaka, and many others. He has shared the stage with some of India’s leading tabla masters and has received multiple prestigious awards and scholarships for his contribution to classical music.

For Vaikuntha, this visit is something truly special.
